Founding Director

Jamie has always held a fascination for people and other cultures. As a graduate psychologist Jamie went on to become Research Manager and Head of Youth Research with The Psychology Business within the University of Leeds. During this time Jamie instigated a major initiative on young people called the 'Essential Exposure Project'. Building on his experience with major international brands, government departments and a range of other organisations, Jamie established Alchemy Solutions a specialist research and consultancy group for youth and media clients. Working with EMAP he developed a new approach to understanding brands, advertising and media with findings still relevant to today's market place.

Whilst working at the forefront of applied research Jamie also conducted part-time PhD research into cultural modelling. From this work Jamie developed one of the earliest psychographic models BUT also came to a significant conclusion:

"Word and theoretical knowledge can only take you so far- the essence is in the experience!! For example, say I used the latest techniques to provide a great report on India. Apart from the fact that the report will be interpreted differently by different people- NONE of the words will replace the actual experience of visiting India for yourself. It is at this point the words take on more meaning and relevance."

Planetary Tribe was established to deliver practical services that integrate these powerful principles and empower clients to use them for themselves. Jamie has significant international experience, being the main consultant on a future global trends study across 29 countries.

Jamie is trained in Avatar (intensive course on the power of beliefs and creativity) and continues his interests in music (DJ for 10 years), travel, new ideas, personal awareness and football (Liverpool).
